Advice, Information and Guidance

Advice, Information and Guidance is your 'one-stop-shop' for information and advice about your wellbeing.

We offer a combination of drop in and casework appointments within our service on a range of issues such as housing, welfare benefits, legal issues and access to services. We are also able to act as advocates for young people.

We are currently updating our leaflet but when it is ready it will be available here.

What should I do first?

You can call us to make an appointment or come to one of our information and advice drop-in sessions on Thursdays between 2-4pm (this is different to our Out of Hours therapeutic drop-in that takes place between 4-8pm on a Thursday). At your first point of contact for advice and information support, you will complete a referral form, then you will be given an appointment for an assessment. However if it is not a busy day and you come to one of our drop-in sessions, we might be able to do the assessment the same day.

What is the assessment?

The assessment is a 1-to-1 session where we find out about your situation and how we can best assist you.

What happens next?

After the assessment, depending on your situation, we will contact the appropriate agency to make a referral, like St Martins, Fairbridge, Chapter 1 or the Hackney Homeless Persons Unit. If you are experiencing emotional issues, like depression, we will make a referral to our in-house counselling service.

After we make the referral, we chase up the agency to make sure they meet your needs.

We also run and promote our outreach sessions at schools in and around Hackney.
