Referrals

Off Centre is service for young people aged 11 to 25 living, working or studying the London Borough of Hackney. We accept referrals for counselling, art therapy or drama therapy, as well as offering advice, information and guidance. We accept contacts from young people directly, and referrals from professionals.

How to make a referral

If you are a young person then contact us directly or drop-in and speak with one of the team.

If you are a professional, then please follow the process as detailed below.

To access our service we ask that professionals gain explicit consent from the young person they are supporting and also to have key information available, such as:

  • Date of birth
  • Address [correspondence address if different]
  • Doctors name and address
  • Details of any current medication
  • A brief summary of the presenting difficulty and details of how Off Centre might be able to help
  • Details of any other professional involved
  • Any other information that may assist us in our assessment for services

We work in a multi-disciplinary manner to support and safeguard young people and vulnerable young adults. To facilitate this all our practitioners are professionally trained and registered Counsellors, Art Therapists, Dramatherapists and our volunteers are either in their final year of professional training or those working towards registration. Clinical supervision is provided by appropriately qualified and registered practitioners. Our Advice, Information & Guidance staff are trained and experienced in the field of supporting young people across a range of issues inclusive of housing, benefits, training and assist young people in  accessing legal services, as appropriate. We are further supported by up to two student social work placements per year.
